Minutes
Date: March 21, 2011 Time: 5:30 pm
All issues requiring future action are underlined and italicized.
Meeting called to order by President A. Davis at 5:35 pm
Roll Call: Executive Comm A. Davis, A. Martin, S. Barnes, E. Louks, R. Conlin
and Tony Martin.
Welcomed and recognized new member, Christopher Erbe.
President and Secretary went through this year’s membership cards, of
which President took 99% of same for distribution to those he knew. Remaining
will be mailed out by Ron Conlin.
Motion to accept the previous month’s minutes by Earl Louks and seconded
by Tony Martin.-voted in unanimously.
Treasurers Report by Tony Martin.- $1526.53 in checking and $ 1224.17 in savings.
All required taxes filed. Motion by Ron Conlin., seconded by Kevin Derrick
to accept the report voted in unanimously.
President and Earl Louks discussed web site which for now we are not paying
any monthly charge- leave it as it is for now.
Discussion held about this year’s “Shop with a Cop” program
slated for December 10th. Membership agreed that $100.00 per eligible child
be spent. Earl Louks will make some calls for potential donors. Note last
month Steve Barnes assigned as Chairman of that committee. Tony Martin said
he tracks funds for that program so as not to confuse with programs general
fund. In an effort for FOP Lodge # 15 to reach as many individual families
as possible a motion was initiated by Tony Martin and seconded by Earl Louks
that there will be a limit of (2) Two children per family that are eligible
for $100.00 per child. Motion passed unanimously.
Group discussed breakdown of our $40.00 annual dues. As per Tony Martin and
Earl Louks the breakdown is $18.00 to national and $9.50 goes to the State
lodge leaving our program with $ 12.50.
Discussed memos from National that Lodge Secretary received. Ron Conlin
will scan and email same to executive committee.

Discussed and a motion was initiated by Steve Barnes and seconded by Tony
Martin that membership dues should be in for our local by October 1, of each
year. Motion passed unanimously. Earl Louks will post that notice on the web
site.
Ron Conlin introduced discussion previously mentioned of exploring setting
up a payment system on our web site like PayPal. Group decided to table further
discussion until Ron investigates further to include how Lodge # 18 has
theirs set up.
Ron Conlin also introduced a post card size “What is the FOP”
which can be used by our lodge to solicit new members. Group liked initial
draft. Ron will continue working on same and submit next month for approval.
President Davis discussed a planned Garage sale to raise money which is tentatively
scheduled for two days on the second weekend in August 2011 in Lynnwood Washington.
A motion was introduced by President Davis and seconded by Ron Conlin to secure
a storage unit in Lynnwood to begin storing items being collected for the
garage sale. Motion passed unanimously. President Davis will take care
of that and sending out a memo to membership asking for donations. Earl Louks
will post same on web site.
Discussed setting up a soft ball game in September 2011 in concert with FOP
picnic. A motion was introduced by President Davis, seconded by Ron Conlin
to issue a challenge to Lodge # 18 in an attempt to win back the trophy. Motion
passed unanimously. President Davis will issue the challenge. Earl Louks
will post that on web site as well.
President Davis discussed FOP discounts for automobiles at Brain Motors for
members. Earl Louks will post on web site.
Discussed picking up artwork disk that chapter paid for. Ron Conlin volunteered
to secure same once Earl sends him the name of the place and the address.
A motion by Earl Louks, seconded by Tony Martin to nominate and vote in- Kevin
Derrick as chapter Trustee on the executive board; Motion passed unanimously.
Group congratulated Derrick. Earl Louks will update web site. Treasures
position still open.
Group discussed proper use and removal of FOP decals from sold vehicles etc.
President Davis will send out a memo regarding same.
Next General Membership meeting is scheduled for May 16, 2011.
Motion by Earl Louks, seconded by President Davis to adjourn @ 6:42 PM Meeting
adjourned.
