FAQs
Q) How much is it to join?
A) Currently $45 yearly, of which $18.00 goes to the National Grand Lodge
and the rest stays within Lodge 15.
Q) When are the meetings?
A) Meetings are bi-monthly and the location will be posted on the web page.
Q) Why should I join the FOP?
A) There are many reasons, but we believe the most important reason is brother
and sisterhood. We are a group of local law enforcement officers that want
to open ourselves up to helping and getting to know other officers within
our area and state. We believe the benefits of knowing officers from other
departments can benefit us in many ways, such as networking. This doesn't
even get into the numerous other reasons such as scholarships, legal defense
fund, legislation updates/support, insurance coverage (at no additional charge),
honor guard, conventions, parties, picnics, lodge outings (like Mariners games),
and support if something bad happens in your life or on the job. Like our
motto says, "cops helping cops". When you join, you are joining
the strongest and best police organization in the US, with over 300,000 members
and 2,200 lodges.
Q) I'm a Federal Officer, can I join?
A) Yes, all full time and retired officers that have powers of arrest can
join the FOP. We also have associate memberships for those who support law
enforcement. If you are interested, please see membership page or e-mail us.
There is also a Federal Officers Coalition which works to support Federal
Officers and thier causes. Membership is $5 a year and the link is http://www.fed-fop.org/
Q) Can my spouse join the FOP?
A) Sort of... The FOP has an auxiliary for family members 18 years and older.
We are trying to get an auxiliary started within Snohomish, Skagit, Island,
and Whatcom Counties. If you are interested, contact FOP Auxiliary President
Aliza Clark in Arizona @ (615) 399-0900, or check them out by clicking
