Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1561 of Arlington, WA, held an informal ceremony at the Arlington Police Department to honor and recognize Detective Sergeant Jonathan Ventura as the VFW Post ‘Police Officer of the Year’. Post Commander Bill Morse said, “This is one of the great pleasures of my position.” Commander Morse made a brief speech and presented a plaque and monetary award from the Post to Detective Sergeant Ventura. Detective Sergeant Ventura was recommended by Police Commander Terry Quintrall and the ceremony was set up by Arlington Police Chief Nelson Beazley.

 

Detective Sergeant Ventura’s recommendation for this award has been forwarded to Washington State VFW for judging of the state Police Officer of the Year. Officers from outside Washington State are brought in to do the judging.

 

Post Commander Bill Morse is also a volunteer with the Arlington Police Department.
